Pitches, Motorhomes & Camping
- What pitch type should I book if I'm staying in a roof tent?
If you're travelling with a roof tent, please book a tent pitch. Depending on the size - if it stays within the footprint of your vehicle book a 3x2 pitch if it extends outside of the footprint of your vehicle you will need to book a 4x3 or 5x4 pitch.
When booking just mention in the form when prompted that you're bringing a roof tent this helps our team allocate you the most suitable spot.
- Can we book multiple pitches together for tents or campervans at Beauly Holiday Park?
Yes — you are very welcome to stay together, but each pitch must be booked separately through our online system. When booking, simply add a note in the comments box requesting that your pitches be next to each other, and our team will do their best to accommodate you.
Please note: To be side by side, both pitches must be the same type — for example, two grass pitches or two hard-standing pitches. If you book one of each, they won’t be located together.
- Can we put two tents or campervans on one pitch at Beauly Holiday Park?
No — only one tent, campervan, or motorhome is allowed per pitch. This is to meet the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service’s safety separation requirements, which ensure safe spacing between units across the park.
If you’re travelling with friends or family, you’ll need to book a separate pitch for each tent or vehicle. You can request to be placed next to each other by adding a note when booking, and we’ll do our best to arrange this.
π Tip: Booking matching pitch types (for example, two grass pitches) helps us position your group side by side safely and comfortably.
- Can we have pitches next to our friends at Beauly Holiday Park?
Yes — if you and your friends book the same type of pitch, we can usually arrange for your pitches to be side by side. Simply add a note to your booking requesting to be placed together, and our team will do their best to make it happen.
Please note: During busy periods, such as summer holidays or NC500 travel season, we can’t always guarantee adjacent pitches — but we’ll always try our best.
π Tip: Booking early and choosing the same pitch type (for example, two grass pitches) gives you the best chance of camping right next to your friends.
- Can I put up a tent next to my campervan or caravan at Beauly Holiday Park?
No — under Scottish Fire and Rescue Service regulations, we can only allow one unit per pitch. This means either a tent, campervan, or caravan, but not more than one together.
The tent area is separate from the touring pitches. However, if you would like to camp close together, you can book a grass touring pitch in the bottom field and a separate tent pitch, and we’ll do our best to place them near each other.
Please note: During busy times, especially in peak season, we can not always guarantee pitches will be directly beside one another — but we’ll always try to accommodate your request where possible.
π Tip: If you’re travelling as a mixed group of tents and campervans, mention it in your booking notes so our team can plan the best layout for your stay.
- Can I put up a kidsβ tent on my touring pitch at Beauly Holiday Park?
Unfortunately not — kids’ tents aren’t permitted on touring pitches. Under Scottish Fire and Rescue Service regulations, we must maintain strict safety distances between all units that people sleep in, including small tents.
This means every tent, campervan, motorhome, or caravan must be on its own dedicated pitch.
π Tip: If your children would like to sleep in a tent, you can book a separate tent pitch nearby — just mention it in your booking notes, and we’ll do our best to keep you close together.
- What should I do if I am towing a caravan with my campervan at Beauly Holiday Park?
If you’re towing a caravan with a campervan, please note that both are classed as separate camping units under Scottish Fire and Rescue Service regulations. Because only one unit is allowed per pitch, you’ll need to book a separate pitch for each.
If your campervan is small, you may be able to park it in our on-site car park instead — but this area is for parking only, with no camping activity (such as sleeping, cooking, or using facilities overnight).
Please email us before booking so we can help you find the best setup for your stay.
π Tip: Mention your towing arrangement in the booking notes — our team will do their best to keep your caravan pitch and parking space close together.
- Does Beauly Holiday Park offer seasonal pitches?
Sorry, we are no longer able to offer seasonal pitches at Beauly Holiday Park. Due to licensing and planning restrictions, the maximum stay is 21 nights, and guests must wait at least 7 nights before returning.
Our focus is on providing a relaxed, short-stay riverside experience for campers, motorhomes, and caravans exploring the Scottish Highlands, Loch Ness, and the NC500.
π Tip: If you’re planning a longer trip through the Highlands, consider splitting your journey between a few nearby stops — our team can suggest great local campsites to pair with Beauly.
- Does Beauly Holiday Park have hard-standing pitches?
Yes — Beauly Holiday Park offers a great selection of hard-standing touring pitches, perfect for motorhomes, campervans, and caravans. Around half of our touring pitches are hard-standing, providing a solid, level base in all weather conditions.
All touring pitches include electric hook-up, and many also have fresh water connections. We also offer fully serviced hard-standing pitches with grey water drainage for extra convenience.
- Which pitches at Beauly Holiday Park are closest to the river?
The hard-standing pitches — both up to 8m and over 8m — are located right along the riverbank, offering beautiful riverside views and easy access to the water’s edge.
Many of the top-field grass pitches also have lovely views of the river, while the bottom-field grass pitches and fully serviced hard-standing pitches with drainage are set a little further back from the river.
We always do our best to honour riverside pitch requests, however, in certain cases — such as high winds or group bookings — we may need to adjust allocations for safety and practicality reasons.
π Tip: If a riverside spot is important to you, mention it in your booking notes and book early — these scenic pitches are among the most popular with guests touring the NC500.
- Can I sleep in my awning at Beauly Holiday Park?
No — sleeping in awnings is not permitted at Beauly Holiday Park. This is due to Scottish Fire and Rescue Service regulations, which prohibit using awnings as sleeping accommodation for safety reasons.
You are welcome to use your awning for storage, dining, or relaxing, but not for overnight sleeping.
Click here for more information about using awnings at Beauly Holiday Park.
π Tip: If you need extra sleeping space, consider booking a separate tent pitch nearby — our team can usually place you close together.
- Can I put up a gazebo at Beauly Holiday Park?
Yes — you are welcome to put up a gazebo at Beauly Holiday Park, as long as it’s a standard size (up to 3m x 3m) and fits within your pitch area.
If you plan to bring a larger gazebo for a group, please email us in advance with the details so we can confirm space and suitability.
Open-sided gazebos are free of charge, but if your gazebo is fully enclosed, please add it to your booking as an awning.
π Tip: Standard gazebos are perfect for providing shade or shelter during your NC500 adventure — just make sure they’re securely pegged down in case of Highland winds.
- What size awning can I use at Beauly Holiday Park?
To comply with Scottish Fire and Rescue Service regulations, awnings at Beauly Holiday Park must:
Not extend more than 3 metres from the side of your caravan or motorhome.
Not be longer than the vehicle itself.
β οΈ Important: Some large “drive-away awnings” may be classed as tents due to their size and design. These might require a separate booking for safety and spacing reasons. If you’re unsure, please email us a photo before your visit and we’ll be happy to advise. The use of electric fan heaters or air-conditioning units inside awnings is not permitted, and sleeping in awnings is also strictly prohibited.
π Tip: Standard-size awnings are ideal for relaxing, dining, or storing gear — just make sure they meet the safety spacing rules to keep everyone comfortable and compliant.
- Can I store my touring caravan or motorhome at Beauly Holiday Park?
Yes — Beauly Holiday Park offers secure winter storage for touring caravans and motorhomes at a rate of £1.96 per day.
Much of the park is covered by CCTV, and we have staff living on site year-round, providing extra peace of mind. However, please note that storage is at the owner’s own risk.
π Tip: Winter storage is a great option if you plan to return in spring or continue your NC500 adventures next season — spaces are limited, so it’s best to book early.
- When are the grass and tent pitches open at Beauly Holiday Park?
To help protect our grounds, the grass touring pitches are available from 1st April to 30th September each year.
Tent pitches are open for a longer season — from 14th March to 25th October.
- Can I bring or install my own static caravan at Beauly Holiday Park?
No — Beauly Holiday Park is now a seasonal touring park only, so we no longer accept static caravans on-site.
Our focus is on providing touring pitches for caravans, motorhomes, campervans, and tents, offering a flexible and friendly base for exploring Loch Ness, the NC500, and the Scottish Highlands.

Weather, seasons and practical tips
- Are there midges at Beauly Holiday Park?
We’re very fortunate at Beauly Holiday Park — we rarely have midges! Thanks to our open riverside location and the regular Highland breeze, midges are uncommon here except on the very stillest of days.
In fact, some summers we don’t see any midges at all.
π Tip: If you’re travelling the NC500 or exploring the Scottish Highlands, Beauly is one of the best spots to enjoy the outdoors without the usual midge problem.
- Are the Glamping bell tents at Beauly Holiday Park cold?
One of the reasons we now choose green bell tents is that they warm up quicker in the sun and do not radiate the heat away as quickly at night. However, even though it is "glamping" it is still "camping" and you should be prepared for cold weather even in the summer.
Bring fleeces warm bedclothes, and consider the optional electric blankets in the 5m tents.
